FAQ & Help

From generating your first Live Photo to credits, saving, and what iOS actually allows as a moving wallpaper — the questions Live.AI users ask most.

Getting started

What does Live.AI do?

It turns a still photo into a native Live Photo — one that plays when you press and hold it in the iPhone Photos app. The output is a properly paired still image and motion clip, not a GIF or an ordinary video. The app also converts between Live Photos and video locally.

Do I need an account?

AI generation requires signing in, because your results and credits are tied to your account. The Convert feature works without one — just open it and go.

Which devices are supported?

iPhone and iPad. Check the App Store listing for the current minimum iOS version.

What languages does the app support?

The interface is available in many languages and follows your system language automatically — there is nothing to set.

Generating Live Photos

How do I make my first one?

On the Create tab, pick a photo, then choose a style, camera direction, motion amount and quality. You can add your own short motion description. Submit, then open the Results tab when it is done to preview and save.

How long does it take?

Usually from under a minute to a few minutes, depending on the quality tier and the current queue. You can leave the app after submitting — you will get a notification when it finishes.

How many can I do at once?

Besides single generations, you can select up to 9 photos and run them as one batch with shared settings. Each result is its own Live Photo.

Which quality tier should I pick?

There are three tiers with increasing resolution and increasing cost. Standard is plenty for everyday sharing; consider a higher tier if you plan to view the result large or keep it long-term. Current prices are shown in the app.

Which source photos work best?

A clear subject with some depth behind it usually animates most naturally. Portraits and old photos suit smaller motion amounts; landscapes, clouds and water can take stronger camera movement. Describing one or two subtle movements works better than stacking many requests.

What if I do not like the result?

AI output varies. The same source photo with different settings or a different description can look completely different. Try finding settings you like at Standard quality first, then re-run the one you want at a higher tier.

Credits & purchases

How are credits used?

Each AI generation deducts credits according to the quality tier you picked, at the moment you submit. The Convert feature does not use credits.

Do I get a refund if it fails?

Yes — credits for a failed job are refunded automatically, with no need to contact support. If your balance has not recovered after a while, send feedback from the Settings page and mention roughly when it happened.

How do I get credits?

Buy a credit pack in the app, or invite friends and earn rewards — both sides get credited. Current amounts are shown in the app.

My purchase did not arrive.

Check your connection and reopen the app; delivery normally takes a few seconds. If it still has not arrived, send feedback from the Settings page and we will credit it against your purchase receipt.

Can I get a refund?

In-app purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds go through Apple's Report a Problem page. We cannot issue them directly.

Saving & using results

How do I save to Photos?

On the result page, choose to save as a Live Photo. The first time, you will be asked to allow adding to your photo library. Afterwards, press and hold it in Photos to play it.

Is it a real Live Photo?

Yes. The still cover and motion clip are saved with matching pairing metadata, so Photos treats the result as a single Live Photo asset rather than a separate photo and video.

Can I set it as a moving wallpaper?

Not always — and this is up to iOS rather than the app. iOS applies undocumented rules to decide which Live Photos are eligible as moving wallpapers, and even some Live Photos shot on the iPhone camera cannot be set, typically the ones where very little moves. If the system tells you a photo cannot be used, try a result with more visible motion. Worth knowing: this is a system-side restriction, not a broken file — these Live Photos still play perfectly when you press and hold them in Photos.

Can I export a plain video instead?

Yes. The result page can save an ordinary video as well as a Live Photo, which is handy for platforms that do not support Live Photos.

How long are results kept?

Cloud results are kept for 30 days, after which the video file is removed — the entry remains but can no longer be played or saved. Save what you want to keep to Photos before then; files already on your device are not affected.

Converting between Live Photos and video

What does Convert do?

It works in both directions: turn a video from your library into a Live Photo, or export a Live Photo as an ordinary video. Everything runs on your device — nothing is uploaded, nothing is queued, no credits are used, and no account is needed.

How do I turn a video into a Live Photo?

Pick a video, drag on the timeline to choose the segment to keep, then use the slider below it to pick the frame that becomes the still cover. Save to Photos when you are happy. Segments can run from about 1 to 6 seconds.

Why can't the segment be longer?

Mostly file size. The motion part of a Live Photo grows quickly with duration — a few seconds can already be well over ten megabytes, and beyond that a single "photo" becomes unreasonably large.

What format does the exported video use?

Standard H.264 MP4, which plays directly on other phones, on computers, and on most social platforms.

Can I convert photos stored in iCloud?

Yes, but the original has to come down to your device first. If only a thumbnail is stored locally, the app requests the full file automatically — on a slow connection this takes a little longer.

Account & privacy

Are my photos used to train AI?

No. Uploaded photos are used only to fulfill your generation request. See the privacy policy for full details on data handling and retention.

Will my results be there on a new device?

Yes — results and credits follow your account, so signing in on a new device shows everything still within the retention period. Files already saved to your old device's library do not sync automatically; use iCloud Photos or transfer them yourself.

How do I delete my account?

You can start account deletion from the Settings page. It removes your account and associated result data and cannot be undone, so save anything you want to keep to Photos first.

I am not getting completion notifications.

Check that notifications are allowed for Live.AI under Settings → Notifications. If permission looks fine and they still do not arrive, send feedback from the Settings page.

How do I contact support?

Sending feedback from the app's Settings page is fastest, since it attaches the diagnostic details we need. You can also email talent.limited.ai@outlook.com.
